Bio

Dion Watkins is a multifaceted and critically acclaimed copywriter, screenwriter and director whose work has impacted many premiere brands. As screenwriter, Dion is a 2021 finalist and winner of the highly competitive Writer's Room 5050 and Level 4 Press screenwriting competition: adapting books to the screen. As copywriter, Dion has written advertising for leading brands including a Dole and Disney campaign to celebrate healthy living featuring Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Beauty and the Beast, Incredibles 2, Cars 3 and Marvel. He's also been the copywriter and screenwriter of award-winning branded content for CHOC Children's Hospital, Dole and the Silicon Valley based e-bike company GenZe. Some brands he's written for include LG, Western Digital, TikTok, Publix supermarkets, Toshiba, St. Joseph's Hospital and others in various industries from energy to sports, tech and beyond. As a director, in content creation and development, Dion has directed broadcast commercial work as well as Grammy nominated and award-winning artists Kanye West, André 3000, Fonzworth Bentley, Faith Evans, Anthony Hamilton and more, reaching millions of viewers. In addition to having produced content for iHeartMedia starring the cast of the Netflix series The Ranch, Dion has directed and produced work that's been promoted by Apple. He's been the writer and associate producer of branded content for MTV, written and directed narrative work and has worked with the teams of Walden Media, MTV and Tyler Perry Studios on feature films and in television. Dion is a graduate of Morehouse College and the University of Southern California's Graduate School of Cinematic Arts, where he was awarded the prestigious James Bridges scholarship for excellence in directing and was selected as one of four graduate film directors to direct a film the school fully funded based on directorial talent. Dion uses his experience in advertising, branded content, film and television to deliver impactful work for a myriad of brands and valued audiences.
